Silvia

At age 25 Silvia considers herself some sort of nomad: she has lived in 15 houses, in 9 different cities, in 2 countries (and seems to want more!). She was brought up bilingual (Spanish and Galician) and was interested in communication and languages since an early age – the kind of kid who devoured books and liked using extravagant new words.

As a teenager, Silvia hesitated between studying medicine or translation and interpretation. Ultimately her love of languages and cultures tilted the scale in favor of the latter and she enrolled on a Double Bachelor’s Degree program in Translation and Interpreting in the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She went to Mons, Belgium, during her study-abroad year and she enjoyed it so much that she went back there as a teaching assistant at the university where she once was a student.

Back in Spain, Silvia decided to join her love of medicine and languages through the Master's Degree in Intercultural Communication, Translation and Interpreting for the Public Services. There, she met Miguel, who acted as a link to BeatBabel.

Silvia is currently working as Spanish Specialist at BeatBabel from an island in the Atlantic, but where could she be tomorrow?
