Kaixin

“Language is in my blood.”

Kaixin grew up with different languages. Her hometown – a small Chinese city called Dongguan, is the has-been “world’s factory”. One of her childhood favorites was flipping through tons of free books (mostly samples for printing) in different languages. She also lived in a bilingual environment – she spoke Cantonese in daily life, and Mandarin in school.

Kaixin in Paris

Kaixin found her interest in languages by speaking with a foreign teacher during weekends, who shared with her information that she otherwise would not have known. Her love for languages is deeply rooted in her love for the cultures and thinking patterns of different groups and tribes of people in different parts the world.

In her early twenties, Kaixin moved to England, where she explored the greatest thoughts about literature, philosophy and politics at the University of Oxford during her study-abroad year. After she graduated from her college with a BA degree in Translation and Interpretation, Kaixin quickly realized the change of the translation industry brought by the rapid development of technology. Following her passion, she moved to America to study Translation and Localization Management, shortly after which she joined BeatBabel in Summer 2019.

Kaixin actively participates in the localization industry events and organization. She volunteers as a Tool Manager for Translation Commons, a non-profit organization in the l10n world. When she is not working, she enjoys going outdoors and treating everyone with her home-made food.
